Decided to throw around some names for my line of youth educational blocks and came up with 'creative city blocks'. While my son and I are in the playroom, I usually end up building buildings with my son's blocks since my preoccupation is passive solar architecture. He loves knocking them down.
Looked up 'creative city' later on and found a wikipedia entry. I don't know if I would necessarily make a top level brand of the name, but they certainly are
no matter how you look at it.
The following is the questionaire for starting a kickstarter project.
What would you like to create?
I am creating a line of youth building blocks made from salvaged wood. The blocks are of unique shapes and different types of unfinished wood so that children can appreciate the beauty of the natural wood. My goal is also to educate children about where the wood came from and where it was going( the landfill) if I didn't save the materials. To accompany the blocks I am creating a mini-book that comes with every set to explain the problem of useful waste in our landfills. The blocks themselves are designed to inspire creative, free, and abstract form building with the idea that our youth will need to develop new and innovative ways to deal with a problem that previous generations have given them.
What rewards would you offer?
5 dollars you get a written thank you note. for 10 dollars you get a copy of the mini book. 50 dollars gets you a set of 12 blocks and the mini book. 75 dollars gets you a unique salvaged wood, 2x3 picture frame. 100 dollars gets you a set of 40 blocks and the mini-book, 200 dollars gets you a 2x3 picture frame and a set of 18 blocks and the mini book. 250 dollars gets you a 2x3 picture frame and a set of 40 blocks. 350 dollars gets you a one-of-a-kind, salvaged wood, 2x3 picture frame(if you are unhappy with it, keep sending it back and I'll send you another until you are happy with it), and a set of 48 blocks.
Include links where we can find out more information about your project
Still tossing around ideas about this. Instead of competing for name space with creative city movement, thought that it might be good to go after google ranking for a more generic term to capture casual shoppers for kids toys and building blocks.
