18 yr old male from Montesereno/los gatos. White upper upper middle class. Graduated high school from a boarding school in Indiana.
Born in Michigan, he had a serious food related alergic reaction around age 1, which prompted his parents to convert to christianity from a life of excess. This will play out in his life. Since his parents(moslty from father) promised to change their life if their chikld survived, they became very permissive with him from then on. His self concept developed possitively by allowing him to achieve highly in physical activities and he is very out going and has a lot of friends. Conversely he developed to be overly confident to the point of disrespectful of authority and seniority.
shortly after that the company they worked for went public and they made millions and they moved to Monte Sereno to be closer to the tech business epicenter. The father stayed at home with him and his older sybling. His parents did not become sober for several years after they moved to Ca, which gave the kids an opportunity to see their alchohol use before denouncing it cold turkey. This coupled with unsupervised hockey locker room culture and a peer group made up of older kids from similar socioemotional development, created a moral dillema that expressed itself starting in middle school with whole sale embracement of alchohol, marijuana, and psychadelics.
Several times in his high school years he has been caught hosting drinking parties in his parent's basement, a place which they have rarely supervise at all. When confronted he is unapologetic to to the point of telling his parents that that is who he is and that it isn't likely to change soon.
Academically he has been average grades and unmotivated.
Besides school, he played hockey which is a very resource demanding sport requiring hours of driving to and from ice rinks, and 10's of thousands of dollars in equipment and travel each year.
