Small group- accommodation v modification.
valerie Parish articles
The system is crazy and the admins and people who champion it are crazy, and they basically categorize other types of learners that don't fit into their crazy system.
The parents of kids the have "special needs" are often lacking in parenting and eunderstanding their shild. They then run to a system that is set up to justify asking for more money to get extra help to pick up the slack. and it's on the tax payer...!!
Accom v mod:
we couldn't figure out where the hard line was between mod and accom.
-when nothing has changed, you are teaching from a different way, is accomm ie. giving headset, or magnifying glass. requiring the same thing.
-when assignment is being changed
if student can still demostrate what you want to know/assess, then it's a accomm, if you are changing the assessment standards needed to be met, then it's a mod.
-this still doesn't make sense. for having taught this class so much it's memorized, She sure can't explain anything clearly. I have to remember that she might be a great special needs teacher, but she can't teach about special needs.
