Finals- need to be flexible with final sometimes too. If they ask for more time, make exceptions. have to keep in mind how much time it takes to grade, but also how the quality is for the student. scan-tron vs. essay, etc. Don't have final be too much of the grade.

grading- we hold a lot of power when it comes to grading and helping our students with self-esteem. Make categories and think about how they are weighted on their overall grades. helps in steering them when looking back at their performance. our objective is to help the learner learn.
-a week after grades posted. there should be a chance to change the grade for the possitive. If student shows initiative and strives for more. Make a call home to parents.

-we have the right to not discuss politics and reveal our political positions and affiliations. but we should push the envelop and involve the kids. Its a good opportunity to challenge their cul

-if you become a union rep, the district can't move you based on union contract. but it does take a lot of work.

-teachers are always needed, even during a recession.

-know your dates that corespond to legal scenarios. by march 15th teachers need to notify teachers if they are coming back or not.

-if you are going to be a sub for more than 30 days. Call the parents or contact them.
