Reflection

I asked the question about how they feel about electives and the arts being neglected in schools. Would it matter? how?
photo class. they don't have many electives. no shop, no cooking.
ramon won a contest from a los gatos foundatuion for a photo. he feels good about it. electives are for kids who are perfect.

they are much more mature than I expected.
behavior modification class: learning how to talk to teachers, learning about themselves.
they think math is most relevant to their future.

asked about drugs and how often then encounter them. They were very sheepish about the question answering it in front of Kimo. They are very scared about them and they said they know it isn't the right path. drugs are an everyday thing for them. drugs are abused.

these kids seem to be good people and sociable and able to think for them selves. sounds like this is the type of kid that gets hung up in the system
