Public Art

My cousin sarah and I spent the afternoon coloring a cement playground feature at Las Palmas park near our house. I've wanted to do this for years now, and I finally remembered about it. Also my cousin Sarah is an industrial designer/artist and I guess she juices up my creative side. For 5 dollars we got 56 pieces of sidewalk chalk. It was really cool to have lots of kids come up to us and ask if they could help out.
I think it would be a great mini-grant idea from the city to get a ton of chalk and have weekend chalk art days in the park. If the whole cement feature were covered, the park would be a HUGE spectacle. Community interaction at it's finest!
